I'll bet that nearly every first-time visitor to Florida has a gator on his/her's must-see list. Looking slow and lethargic, the American alligator is anything but slow. In short bursts, an alligator will outrun a human, some reaching 35 mph. So, nothing is better than having a fence between you and the gator ... as in this scene from the Central Florida Zoo in Sanford.
