Description
One of a dozen named waterfalls in the Clayton area, Minnehaha Falls is considered by the locals the best waterfall in Rabun County. This particular Minnehaha is in the state of Georgia, and is not the famous Minnesota waterfall popularized by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
Found west of Clayton, the 60 foot falls drops over layer upon layer of shale ledges and into a wide pool at its base. A visit to Minnehaha is a great adventure for school age children, although the half mile path harbors a few toe-stubbing tree roots and a short flight of stairs from Bear Gap Road. Adults will appreciate this mountain setting as both sides of the cascade are lined with rhododendrons which come into full bloom by early June.

For some reason, the name "Minnehaha" seems to suit these falls so well. Great capture!
