Description
Florida's Ponce Inlet community is located on a thin barrier island which extends south from Daytona Beach Shores to the ocean inlet. Ponce Inlet cannot be properly introduced without mentioning Florida history and the first European explorer, Juan Ponce de Leon. His expedition surveyed this land in 1513 and entrusts the town and inlet with his name. Ponce has no motels or hotels, no through traffic, and offers a chance to explore 180 years of history. The historic lighthouse, among some of the tallest in the United States, is one of the highlights at the Lighthouse Point Park, along with the inlet, beach, jetty and fishing pier.
