Description
In keeping pace with Chevrolet, Ford hit the market in 1955 with a new body style called the Fairlane. Offering a power-plant from the Thunderbird, the V-8 was boosted to 193 horsepower. While the short-lived Crown Victoria Skyliner was the creme-dela-creme, this two-door Sunliner convertible was a much cooler vehicle. New for this line of Fords were dealer-installed seat-belts, factory air-conditioners and a 12-volt electrical system. Modified with fender skirts, dual mirrors, continental kits and lake pipes, some of the Ford Fairlanes were King of Kustom.
