Description
Tarpon Springs, famous for its Greek sponge divers since the early 1900s, still draws in countless tourist to its Gulf Coast docks on Dodecanese Boulevard. Now more of a tourist town, than a busy seaport, visitors flock to the historic district and the sponge docks.
Here a Gulf-going vessel, the Galilee, depicts the working class boat where refinements, such as brass and teak, are not needed.
