Description
Located a few miles from Texas State Highway 36, The Grove is a small cluster of vintage buildings in Coryell County, Texas. Gaining a foothold as a small town during the late 1850s, its name came from a nearby grove of live oak trees. With a population hovering around 150 people, the town earned a post office in 1874. Residents relied on two general stores, grocery stores, a mill, and a cotton gin. Children either attend a two-teacher public school or a private Lutheran school.
Bypassed by a modern highway in the 1940s, the community began its steady decline. It's estimated that the population peaked with about 400 residents. And today there not much of a stir in The Grove, but for the right and savvy entrepreneur, this Texas ghost town could be put back on the map!

Love this! Wonderful color contrast, misty background, and that fleshy cacti at front... Great work Ben. Congratulations on the features. F/L
