Description
Although no longer tended by resident light-keepers, the Oregon coast is still illuminated by a string of lighthouses spread out along the entire length of the coast. One of these survivors is rated as the strongest light on the coast, limited only by the curvature of the earth. Heading north from Florence, visitors may first spot the lighthouse from Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint. This silhouette view was captured from the pathway that leads up to the light station. The west coast sunset is just about to disappear from view.

Outstanding image in all respects, Ben! The contrast of silhouettes & sunset for me captures that micro moment of serene stillness the earth sometimes give us - great capture and composing! like/fav! :)
