Description
Known for its favorable winds and cluster of giant power generating wind turbines, Ma'alaea (Ma ah lah ay ah) is best known to Maui tourists as the place for outbound trips to Molokini for snorkeling or whale watching cruises. With the majority of the villagers directly tied to the sea, a large part of the town's residents live on the water in Maalaea Harbor. Drawn in with a few restaurants and harbor shops, island visitors will discover an unpretentious little town that's best described as laid-back.
