Description
The Susquehanna River begins its 444 mile journey near Cooperstown, New York, and joins the West Branch in Central Pennsylvania. Named after the native Susquehannock Tribe, the lazy river heads toward the state capital and eventually empties into the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.
Just south of where the two branches join together at Northumberland in Snyder County, two rock ledges stretch across the river. This double half falls is known to entice area anglers, eager to test their fishing skills. This late afternoon view captures the golden glow of the setting sun, as well as autumn's natural beauty of Susquehanna River Valley.
