Description
Priddy's General Store, located in Stokes County just outside Danbury, has been serving the community since 1888. Changing hands in 1929, the mercantile took on the Priddy name. Continuing its southern traditions and maintaining a rustic atmosphere, members of the Priddy family still operate the historic store. The place for homemade fried apple pies, mouthwatering jams and jellies and sandwiches made to order, the Priddys keep the lights on six day a week from 9 am to 6 pm. Out back, live Bluegrass music echoes from a small stage and fills a large open field where county residents and guests either sing along or dance to the music. If there is a way to journey back through time, it's here in Stokes County.
