Description
Just east of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, NC Rt 209 leaves I-40 and heads northward over the New Found Mountains. Here along this backcountry route you'll find a string of small towns as it nears the Tennessee border. Here at Luck, the Pink J. Plemmons Groceries and Feeds store reminds Rt 209 travelers of how quickly times can change. No longer able to compete with large chain stores, many country stores of yesteryear did not survive.
