Description
Slowly taking shape over time, George Turner turned four acres into a beautiful botanical garden in the heart of St. Petersburg, Florida. Avid gardener and plumbwr by trade, Turner amassed a wide variety of tropical plants and trees during the early 1900s. When word got out, many visitors streamed in to see the gardens for 25 cents by 1925.
Lying 13 feet below street level, the gardens are now maintained by the City of St Petersburg. Displaying some of the origiinal plants, the gardens offer water features, tropical birds, a butterfly garden and a beautiful setting for wedding ceremonies.

An inviting path into the beautiful gardens. I've been here many times (not lately) and always enjoyed the lush, tropical atmosphere. Nice capture, Ben.
