Description
The Wilson Lick Ranger Station, built in 1916, was the first for the newly formed Nantahala National Forest in North Carolina. Rangers' duties included maintenance of the telephone lines and well as construction of the Wayah Bald Lookout Tower, which was manned from the Wilson Lick Station. First aid and fire training were also taught here at the station. The original ranger station structure will soon reach the century mark.
