Artist's Description

Spread over 21,000 acres of land in the Delta of Mississippi and Louisiana, Smith Coffee Daniell II enjoyed a great deal of success as a cotton planter in the Antebellum South. His only lasting legacy is this ghostly ruins of Windsor Mansion. One of the most lavish cotton planter's homes of the 19th century, Daniell's 23 room mansion was built in a basic Greek revival style, with other architectural elements borrowed from the Italianate and Gothic.

Born in western Pennsylvania, Ben quickly discovered that his parents were passionate about travel, photography, oil painting and wildlife. Being the youngest member of his family, he grew up exploring much of the eastern half of the United States at an early age with his older brothers.
