Description
Ybor City was founded in the 1880s by cigar manufacturers and populated by thousands of immigrants from Cuba, Spain, and Italy. Workers in the cigar factories would roll millions of cigars every year.
Two years after his arrival in the United States, Arturo founded A. Fuente & Company in 1912. Cigars were handmade with Cuban tobacco. By 1922 the company reached it's peak, employing 500 people. Tragically the factory burned down and Fuente lost everything. Arturo's second son, Carlos, kept the family dream alive. The next generation of Fuentes would become a cigar producing dynasty. By 1940, Arturo Sr. was again making cigars with his family. Tampa, Florida.
