Artist's Description

Hoping to hold development costs low, the underpinnings for the first Corvettes were basically off-the-shelf Chevy sedan parts, using an in-line 150-hp six-cylinder engine and sedan chassis. A hefty price of $3500 kept many of them sitting on the showroom floor. It wasn't until 1955 when its sales increased with the addition of a V-8 engine.
The rough-riding, first generation Corvettes are among America's most popular classic vehicles. The 1956 and 57 remain the most beautiful Corvettes of all time. With its side scalloped body, optional hardtop and 270 hp 283 cu-in V-8, owners finally had the "real" Corvette!

Ben's photography is about that part of his youth, echoing that same passion that his parents had of the Great Outdoors. Visit
