Description
Built by Lewis Dickey in the 1820s, the grist mill was part of vast plantation that extended into North Carolina. Dickey, the plantation owner, also operated a sawmill. After Dickey's death, the mill was acquired by the Green family and took on the name of Green’s Mill. Nearly a century later, in 1960, the mill was purchased by J.L. Ballenger. The Ballenger Mill property is now part of Willow Creek Plantation, a stunning forty-seven acre wedding and events venue. Located in the beautiful Upcountry of South Carolina, the mill site also includes a covered bridge and mill pond. Owners ask that you call ahead for a private guided tour.
