Description
With its history dating back to the very early 1800s, Chepachet Village is a section of Glocester, located in the northwestern part of Rhode Island. One of the first clapboard buildings on Main Street, it was converted into a general store in 1809. James Brown and William Hopkins, becoming business partners in 1921, took over and renamed their store, Brown and Hopkins General Store.
Continuously operating store since 1809, the country store continues to be a must-see destination for New England tourists. Aisles with well worn floorboards usher shoppers to many parts of the original store which have stayed perfectly preserved. Some of the upper shelves feature original antiques and goods dating back to the store's first opening. A perfect place to find gifts and souvenirs, the store offers home decor items, gourmet specialties and creative merchandise, along with old fashioned hospitality.

This place seems to be such awesome piece of Americana… very beautifully captured! I am very pleased to feature your lovely artwork in the group ‘Covered Bridges and Historical Buildings.’ Please add it to the “2023 First Quarter Featured Image Collection” thread in the discussions area to record and display your image amongst the best in the group. Thank you! 1/25/23
