Description
Known as the "honey locust place" to the Cherokee, The Cullasaja River Gorge is one of the magnificent highlights of the Mountain Waters Scenic Byway in North Carolina. Winding through the Nantahala National Forest, U.S. Route 64 follows the gorge between Highlands and Franklin where tight turns and steep grades keep sightseers on their toes.
