Description
Tarpon Springs, famous for its Greek sponge divers since the early 1900s, still draws in countless tourists to its Gulf Coast docks on Dodecanese Boulevard. Now more of a tourist town, than a busy seaport, visitors flock to the historic district and the sponge docks. Preserving a strong Greek ethnic and maritime character, it's often said you can visit Greece without leaving the United States.
