Known as the Ski Capital of the East, Stowe, Vermont, is located in the Green Mountains with ski facilites on Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak. Mount Mansfield is Vermont's highest mountain with a summit that reaches 4,395 feet.
Although Stowe is a famous ski town, autumn is the most popular time of year, with visitors flooding the area to enjoy the season's vibrant colors. Continually nominated as one of the top places to view autumn foliage, Stowe's mountainsides are covered in glowing reds, golds and oranges. Peak times range from the last week of September to the first two weeks of October.
