Description
Although the air conditioner is still running here in Central Florida, December's full moon is called the Cold Moon. A name that's attributed to a tradition of the Mohawk people. The tag reflects the frigid conditions of December and the increasing grip of winter in North America.
Pictured here in silhouette are the branches of a notable live oak tree which is well over 100 years old. Perched on a bluff and overlooking the Indian River in Cocoa, this full moon was the last one witnessed in 2022.
