Description
The Rice Grist Mill, located in Norris Dam State Park, was originally constructed in 1798 along Lost Creek. The mill, used as a sawmill, a grist mill, cotton gin, a trip hammer, and later to supply electricity to the mill and residence, stayed in the Rice family for four generations.
The mill continued to operate until 1935 when the TVA purchased the land. The entire area would be flooded once the Norris Dam was completed. The Tennessee Valley Authority spared the mill by dismantling it and then raising the building on its present location.

Great on substance. Artist notes is pretty informative. I like the inclusion of that water on the foreground. Technically strong.
