Description
Built during the late 1800s, long time store owner Archie Coffey also served the community as the Edgemont postmaster. Located in a narrow mountain valley in the Pisgah National Forest and miles from a main highway, Coffey's General Store is one the last remnants of a fading North Carolina rural community. Decimated by flood and fire, the town lost most of its full time residents years ago. Surviving for over a century, it's been said that the store's floorboards were underwater more than once.
Relying on vacationers and hunters, the vintage store opens only a few days a week.
